Program Framework will be there and exhibiting with our Consortium alliance partners, this year focussing on some key industries and explaining the benefits of Microsoft Cloud for their specific digital transformation challenges.
We have a number of presentation sessions throughout the two days. I will be co-presenting “Delivering the benefits of digital change in the Public Sector” on Tuesday 31st Oct @ 11.30 (Day 1) in the Purple 3 theatre.
We will explore what digital change really means in the public sector, wrestling with the challenges of delivering smarter, accessible and cost-efficient services to the public. Calling upon our collective experiences and real customer examples from those organisations who have already embarked on a journey of change or modernisation using Microsoft technologies, we will share insight and best practices from within the sector. Find out more from this short video.
How many PMOs are there that receive status reports in Excel, Word or PowerPoint format for each individual project, then extract the data manually to create executive reports? …which are then distributed to management via email using those same disconnected file formats?
Pretty much every customer we work with wants to improve this process, for obvious reasons: countless days are being wasted, executive reports are of limited use and delivered with delay, decision making is compromised. Continue reading >>
Technological innovation and the future share many parallels. Both are unpredictable, both are anticipated with enthusiasm by some (and with apprehension by others) and both come around faster than we ever think possible. The cloud and the great spread of connected devices and apps have transformed the way we communicate, collaborate, and accomplish our tasks. Continue reading >>
We write a lot on this blog about the benefits of project portfolio management and what the right solution can do for your organisation. We usually focus on these positives from a business process point of view: how your project management office can incorporate vital data into its practice; have a broader, as well as deeper, view of a project’s resources; present complex information in a simple to understand visual format. And what that means for an organisation in a very practical way, i.e. how it can affect production, help you budget effectively, and provide a real ROI that will show up on your company’s bottom line. The prevalence of mobile devices continues to shape how we go about our daily lives. According to the above article, no other technology has impacted us like the mobile phone. It’s the fastest growing manmade phenomenon ever, from zero to over 7 billion in about three decades, and it’s showing no signs of slowing. Continue reading >>
The term ‘paradigm shift’ is often overused in business speak for minor and frankly insignificant developments. However, in its correct sense, it refers to a wholesale change in how a society views science, religion, industry or any other major entity. While the phrase has become one of the main culprits for business jargon – given the huge pace of change in banking and finance in recent years, it’s not an over-exaggeration to refer to a paradigm shift in the sector. Modern banking – and the way society at large views the financial industry – has changed so much in the past decade, that it is now almost unrecognisable. Continue reading >>
Digital transformation has to be the business buzzword of 2016. Yet, it can be a challenge to really picture what it should look like at your organisation. Perhaps part of the problem is that digital transformation isn’t about one single thing; rather, it’s about a more general shift in strategy, culture, technology and IT philosophy – among other important factors. It’s about shifting from valuing efficiency to valuing constant innovation, moving from a focus on legacy technology to cloud and mobile apps. This all sounds great, but how do you map this general change to the specifics of your company, your activities and the way you work? Continue reading >>

What makes a great team? Often when we talk about successful teams we single out a number of individuals with special talent that give their team the edge over the competition. But it’s not always the case that the team with the best players prevail – just look at the recent European Championships match between England and Iceland. And this is not limited to sport teams—why do movies with a cast of stars and an acclaimed director sometimes flop? Or how could a company employing vastly experienced business people and top graduates from the most elite business schools in the US fail so spectacularly?Continue reading >>
