Program Framework, Project Online, Project Planning

An exciting two months ahead

We’re setting ourselves up for a busy summer at Program Framework, as we’ll be attending some exciting events throughout June and July. We’re always excited for new opportunities to network and learn from likeminded peers in the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM) sector – as well as getting to attend arguably the biggest Microsoft event of the year! So, what major learning and networking events are we looking forward to this summer?

Gartner PPM Summit

The annual Gartner PPM & IT Governance Summit is taking place over the 13th and 14th June in London and promises to offer expert insight from numerous industry leaders. Given Gartner’s expertise and reputation, this is a must-attend event for PMO, change and resource management leaders, as well as IT Committee members. After the sold-out success of last year’s summit, 2016 promises more of the same. So, no matter what area of PPM you’re involved in, whether you’re a new or experienced professional, the event offers something for everyone. With four keynotes from thought leaders such as Jeroen De Flander and Gartner analyst Donna Fitzgerald (among others), four key avenues will be explored over the two days:

  1. Creating a Portfolio that delivers measurable results
  2. Developing the results-oriented, customer-focused PMO
  3. Managing the PPM ecosystem
  4. Governance, reporting, resource management and PPM tools

There’s sure to be a lot to take in, so if you want to start planning early you can view the full agenda here.

“Learn the best techniques for enabling rapid, agile PPM to deliver results that drive business transformation. Understand how to be an agent of change and a trusted partner in business transformation.”

Come and join us

Program Framework attended the summit in 2015, and we’re pleased to be back again this year – we’re excited to have the opportunity to share some of our expertise via a customer presentation, and our director Gero Renker will be consulting at the Microsoft stand. We will be supporting our US partner ProSymmetry at their Tempus Resource stand to help people realise the potential of efficient resource management. Also, our partner Britvic will be presenting at the event so we’ll be showing our support for them as well.

Follow the hashtag #GartnerPPM to stay up to date with all the latest goings on and get fully prepared for the event. If you’re attending, make sure you come and introduce yourself to our team!

Microsoft partner of the year

We’re also very happy to announce that Program Framework has been listed as a finalist in the category of Project and Portfolio Management in this year’s Microsoft Partner of the Year Awards. The awards ceremony is taking place at WPC this July.9546-Program-Framework-Animated-gif2

The Partner of the Year Awards are a celebration of some of the top work done by members of the Microsoft Partner Network (MPN) – through the use or implementation of Microsoft technologies. For Program Framework, this involved working with Arup – the global design and engineering firm – to deploy Microsoft Project Online, which proved a catalytic tool allowing Arup to provide stakeholders with a holistic view of their global IT projects.

Program Framework and Arup have enjoyed a productive relationship over a number of projects, and this particular one began back in 2013. At this time, Arup’s IT projects process framework was in its infancy stages and wasn’t delivering the results that the company required. Arup struggled to measure successes or adequately represent project status to hone in on projects where issues were present. As a result, the quality of project data was left wanting, despite the excessive amount of time and effort that went into collating and processing it.

Program Framework determined that Office 365 PPM would make the encompassing approach Arup was searching for a reality. With the use of detailed project plans and method data – plus the ongoing support from Program Framework – Arup could begin standardising their captured data.

Our continued work led Microsoft to publish a customer story detailing the project, which was a great show of recognition for our hard work and dedication. With over 2,500 nominations across the Partner Awards, being a finalist for the PPM Partner of the Year is further acknowledgement – so it’s great to receive this recognition!

We will be there when the awards are officially announced at WPC Toronto in July. It’s the biggest event of the year for Microsoft Partners around the world and we can’t wait. You can see the full list of finalists and winners on the WPC site. Again, if you’re one of the many who will be at WPC, make sure you come and say hi!
