Exploring the ancient cobbled streets of the gothic quarter, enjoying fresh tapas in an art nouveau restaurant, visiting world-beating museums – Barcelona has a lot to get excited about. Even more exciting than the above, we will be visiting the Catalan giant to attend the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo. Taking place on the 8th – 12th November, the IT analysts’ conference will be held at the CCIB conference centre, a stone’s throw from the sea front.
When planning our annual agenda, Gartner’s ITxpo is definitely at the top of the ‘not to be missed’ list. With unparalleled industry expertise and a comprehensive understanding of the technology trends that are changing the way the world works, there’s a lot to be learnt from attending. We look forward to finding out about cutting edge technologies, predictions for the future of IT and insights from industry leaders. Most importantly, it’s an opportunity to learn how we can prepare for the future and feed that knowledge back as value to our customers.
An (inter)stellar cast
This year’s keynote speakers include Astronaut and First Commander of the International Space Station, Colonel Chris Hadfield; President and CEO of Predictable Success, Les McKeown and Andrew McAfee, Principal Research Scientist at MIT. And that’s not to mention the host of seminars, signature series sessions and industry-specific seminars going on as well. Put simply, there will be plenty to get your teeth into.
Gartner have chosen to focus the ITxpo on how the digital revolution is massively upsetting established business models and forcing organisations to change. The key message? Companies. Both large and small organizations need to be prepared to adapt: capitalising on the opportunities presented by the rate of change, as well as shoring up their core IT base. Ignoring this revolution will only hamper businesses further down the line, so reacting now and learning what the world’s leading analysts predict for the future is an essential method of preparing.
There’s going to be a lot of focus on how today’s CIOs can prepare their organisations for these changes, and ways to plan and implement the necessary adjustments in organisational structure and behaviour. We’re highly focused on helping our customers transform for today’s environment, so Gartner’s focus on change really aligns with our own focus.
We’re really looking forward to seeing the latest technological developments ‘in the flesh’. With Gartner’s undoubted weight and expertise as a world-leading research company, the exhibition hall in Barcelona is going to be a playground of cutting edge tech, innovative ideas and best practices for the modern day CIO.
As an Emerging Technologies Exhibitor at the Symposium, our partners at ProSymmetry will be demoing Tempus Resource – the 21st century Resource Management tool. Answering those common resource management questions, we’ll be teaming up with ProSymmetry to find out why so many companies are still leveraging Excel to do their resource planning. We’ll be showcasing real-world examples of how Tempus Resource can perform innovative ‘What-If’ modelling to help make clear strategic resource decisions. Add to that the ITxpo’s networking sessions, which are a great opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues from across the industry.
We’ll keep you posted!
Gartner’s ITxpo is going to be an amazing opportunity to learn about the future of the industry and understand how technology is changing the rule book. We can’t wait to hear what the key notes have to say, and are looking forward to look at the industry specific seminars. And of course, it’s all about learning so we in turn will be able to help our customers get the most out of the latest technology trends.
Hopefully between all the events, seminars and networking events we’ll find a moment to eat some pinchos!
