Benvinguts a Barcelona!

We can’t wait to disembark in Barcelona for our second visit to the Catalan capital next month. Having recently returned from the city after attending the Gartner Symposium ITxpo with ProSymmetry, we’re looking forward to another trip to Spain’s second largest city. Aside from the beautiful architecture and great food there’s another reason that makes this trip an exciting one.

Our client Arup, a global design and engineering firm, will be speaking at the event about our recent work together. Carolyn Bundey, Manager of the Global IT Portfolio Management Office at Arup, will talk about how harnessing the power of the cloud, with Project Online, helped them save over 40 man hours every month and create effective insights across their global projects. For the full story you can read the Customer Story written by Microsoft here.

So when does it start?

From Monday 30th November through to Wednesday 2nd December, we’ll be at the Fira Barcelona Conference Centre for Microsoft’s Convergence event. The conference – which focuses on how technology can solve business problems and push organisations forward – will be a great opportunity to learn and gain insights which we’ll be able to feed back into work with our own customers.

Convergence is all about best practice. Keynotes from senior Microsoft insiders, breakout sessions on specific topics and shorter ‘Theater’ Presentations will all provide inspiration and plentiful examples to learn from. We’ve been using the Convergence schedule builder to choose which sessions we’ll be attending – and there’s a lot of choice available!

What’s going to happen?

Microsoft have organised an exciting line-up of events and speakers, with talks tailored to many different industries and technologies. However, the theme running throughout the conference is about how companies are adapting to the new wave of digital technology and transforming for growth in today’s digitalised world. The conference will be about change and transformation, about how organisations can capitalise on the opportunities and minimise risk in a changing world. If you’ve been following our work, you’ll know that change management and the intersection between technology and business transformation are at the heart of what we do.

Besides keynotes from Microsoft leaders including Julia White, Jean-Philippe Courtois, Peter Hinssen, Anand Eswaran and Scott Guthrie (among others), there will also be numerous opportunities to learn from our colleagues and peers. Breakout sessions with business and technology leaders from around the EMEA region will demonstrate how technology can be used to overcome and respond to today’s cloud first, mobile first world. From Real Madrid to Metro Bank to Swarovski, representatives of diverse industries will be showcasing how their operations have been improved and transformed with cutting-edge technology solutions.

Success stories will highlight how all these global brands have used the Cloud, Project Management tools, Business Intelligence and other Microsoft technologies to better serve their customers and grow in the digital age.

Microsoft have focussed Convergence on business and technology leaders. Whether you’re in Sales, Marketing, Project Management or leadership; if you make decisions that influence how technology is used in your company, Convergence will provide you with key tools and insights. There will be numerous networking events and roundtables where we’ll catch up with colleagues from around the EMEA region. In the exhibition hall we’ll be able to discover and try out some of the cutting-edge tools and innovations of Microsoft Partners.

We can’t wait

With Microsoft’s emphasis on using technology to transform business and drive change, Convergence really aligns with our own work using technology to drive change in business. We’re very much looking forward to learning about Microsoft’s vision, hearing about how industry-leading companies are using technology to change and lead the way and to learn about the future in a cloud first, mobile first world. Most of all, we’re looking forward to applying what we learn in our work with customers; to help them get the most out of today’s technology and transform their business processes for the emerging market.

For those going to Barcelona… ens veiem alla!
