Those of you who follow our blog will be aware of our work with Arup – the global design and engineering firm. We’re extremely grateful to have worked alongside them, as our partnership earned us the award for Best New Cloud Customer at the EMEA Partner Forum back in September. We’ve built many lasting relationships with the Arup team, which is why we’re even happier to learn that they have chosen to further improve their project and portfolio management (PPM) by investing in Tempus Resource – the resource management tool from our US partner, ProSymmetry. To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.
“We live in a constantly changing world” is a line we hear all the time when talking about today’s technology advancements, but this statement has always been true. At any point in history, advancements of that era were cutting-edge. Technology and innovation has always been in a continuous state of progress, and the way business has conducted itself has evolved along with it. Companies who didn’t understand this or failed to take steps to adapt were left behind and became obsolete. Continue reading >>
This marks our final blog for 2015, and we’re happy to say it’s been a fantastic year. We’ve been lucky to attend so many brilliant events over the last twelve months, and we’re thrilled we’ve been able to meet so many people who value project management as much as we do.
So, by way of a celebration we thought we’d recite our Top Moments of 2015 (in no particular order, of course!) Continue reading >>
2015 has been an exciting year in the world of project management, with a whole range of exciting products and updates released. Looking back over the past twelve months, there have been many standout moments, but the announcements around Microsoft Project 2016 were particularly impressive.
Immediately available to Office 365 users, Microsoft launched Project 2016 at the end of September to minimal fanfare. Nonetheless, the low key release wasn’t indicative of a low key product refresh. Rumours about the updates had been circulating for some time, so we were very excited to get our hands on Project 2016 – and we weren’t disappointed.
How has Microsoft improved and updated Project, and how will that affect you? Continue reading >>
“The benchmark for outstanding performance throughout the UK computer industry”
The UK IT Industry Awards were held on the 18th November at the Battersea Park Events Arena in London. The event was really something to behold: with over 1300 attendees, the awards brought together some of the industry’s leading members for the biggest IT event of the year. Hosted by the comedian Stephen K Amos, there was live entertainment in a magnificent marquee, a champagne reception and brilliant three-course meal.
The awards focused on the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies from all around the UK that have excelled in the ‘usage, development and deployment of IT in the last twelve months‘. We’d like to start things off by saying a huge congratulations to all entrants, as getting to this stage was no small task!
The categories for the awards were split into four sections, celebrating excellence in Organisational, Personal, Project and Technology fields. Continue reading >>
Benvinguts a Barcelona!
We can’t wait to disembark in Barcelona for our second visit to the Catalan capital next month. Having recently returned from the city after attending the Gartner Symposium ITxpo with ProSymmetry, we’re looking forward to another trip to Spain’s second largest city. Aside from the beautiful architecture and great food there’s another reason that makes this trip an exciting one.
Our client Arup, a global design and engineering firm, will be speaking at the event about our recent work together. Carolyn Bundey, Manager of the Global IT Portfolio Management Office at Arup, will talk about how harnessing the power of the cloud, with Project Online, helped them save over 40 man hours every month and create effective insights across their global projects. For the full story you can read the Customer Story written by Microsoft here. Continue reading >>
Towards the end of October, we wrote about our involvement in the 2015 Annual Project Management Awards held on November 2nd. Before we go any further, we must say that it was a fantastic event with some really deserving nominees and winners. For us, it was also particularly special, as it was our 9th consecutive year sponsoring the Programme of the Year award. And to keep the tradition going, we’ve just signed on for another 3 years with APM, so we’re already excited to get to number 10 next year!
2015 marked the highest ever number of entries – breaking the previous record set at last year’s event – so the competition was tougher than ever. For that reason, we would first of all like the congratulate each and every finalist. They should all be very proud of the work they’ve done and what they’ve achieved. Continue reading >>
The APM Project Management Awards are a celebration of the excellence in project management, recognising the achievements of both individuals and companies for over 20 years now. This year’s awards’ ceremony will be held at the London Hilton on Park Lane on November 2nd, and we’re delighted to be attending the event yet again. There have been a number of preliminary events dating all the way back to April, so the awards are greatly anticipated by all involved. The awards dinner is known for being the one of the most glamorous events of the year and is a great chance for people to really enjoy themselves whilst acknowledging the fine work achieved in the field of project management.
The awards are focused on the outputs and outcomes of projects, i.e. what they aim to achieve, and what their success gives back to the profession. Winners of the highly-coveted trophy (and winners in the past) act as prime examples of the invaluable contribution that project professionals provide in all sections of society. Continue reading >>
We are lovers of all things Project and Portfolio Management here at Program Framework, so this October has been a very enjoyable month for us! At the beginning of the month we attended Project Challenge Expo, where our Director Paul Major spoke about “The changing world of Project Management”. We then went to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium for the Project Control Expo the following week, for which we were a gold sponsor and got the chance to exhibit in the Partner Showcase, which was a great opportunity to demo our American partner – ProSymmetry’s resource management tool: Tempus Resource. And the best news is we’re still not finished! The final event of this project-filled month, Project Virtual Conference 2015 will run through the 22nd and 23rd of October, and is the first ever online conference dedicated to Microsoft Project, Project Server and Project Online.
24 hours, online, for free
The first of its kind, Project Virtual Conference 2015 is all about the business value behind the proper usage of the Microsoft Project family. Continue reading >>
The largest international Project Controls event
It seems October is the perfect month for Project Management enthusiasts. Shortly after our trip to Project Challenge (which we spoke about in our last post), we will be heading to Arsenal for the Project Control Expo. The conference is another great opportunity to discover the latest advancements in the world of Project Management, this time with a focus on exploring the domain of Project Controls.
