Program Framework: A look back at 2015

| | Leave a comment

This marks our final blog for 2015, and we’re happy to say it’s been a fantastic year. We’ve been lucky to attend so many brilliant events over the last twelve months, and we’re thrilled we’ve been able to meet so many people who value project management as much as we do.

So, by way of a celebration we thought we’d recite our Top Moments of 2015 (in no particular order, of course!)

1. Arup case study

Arup is a one of the world’s leading design and engineering firms. However, as an international company they knew they needed to boost project governance, and so requested the help of Program Framework to implement Microsoft Project Online as a solution. We provided advice, guidance and training for employees so they could use Project Online to its fullest. We had a great time working with Arup, and built some lasting relationships to carry on into the future. You can find out more by reading the full customer story on the Microsoft site.

2. Winning an EMEA award in Amsterdam for our work with Arup

Microsoft held this year’s EMEA Project Partner Forum in Amsterdam on the 9th September to recognise the successes of partners in the region. It was also an opportunity for attendees to network with peers and gain invaluable insights into the future of PPM.

We were delighted to be presented with the award for Best New Cloud Customer for our work with Arup. After so much success with the project itself, this was the icing on the cake and we’re thrilled with the award!

3. ProSymmetry

As Ohio-based ProSymmetry’s sole UK partner, we’ve developed a fantastic relationship with the team over the course of 2015. We’ve been able to work together on a number of events and projects during the year, and it’s been great to see Tempus Resource grow as a product. You can learn more about the innovative resource management tool on ProSymmetry’s website.

We’d like to say a big thank you to ProSymmetry for everything they’ve done with us over 2015, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration to come.

4. 10-year anniversary at Sky Garden

2015 was a milestone year for us at Program Framework, as it marks the company’s 10th anniversary. To celebrate, we held an anniversary party at the beautiful Sky Garden in central London.

The event was fantastic, and it was great to be able to celebrate with friends old and new and everyone involved with Program Framework. We were able to capture all the best pictures and moments from the night on Twitter using the hashtag #PFParty. It was a night to remember and we’re already looking forward to what the next 10 years have in store!

5. APM Awards

Held on 2nd November in London, the APM Awards celebrated excellence in project management; recognising the achievements of both individuals and companies from around the UK. We have been associated with the ceremony for a long time, and 2015 marked our 9th consecutive year sponsoring the Programme of the Year Award. 2015 also marked the highest number of entries, and our congratulations again to the UK Ministry of Defence who won the award for their continued work on the MOD’s Rotary Wing Strategy 2009-2015. We’ll be there in 2016 for our 10th year running!

6. Project Controls & Project Challenge

We attended back-to-back events in October with Project Challenge Expo and Project Control Expo, both of which were great opportunities for aspiring and experienced Project Managers alike. We were a gold sponsor at Project Control, and got the chance to exhibit in the Partner Showcase and Job Fair. We were also able to demo Tempus Resource at both events, and received some excellent feedback and interest from attendees. It all made for a rather exhausting October, but it was well worth it!

View our director Gero Renker’s thoughts on the Project Controls event on our YouTube page.

7. Future Decoded

We had a fantastic couple of days at Future Decoded in November, where transformation was the word on everyone’s lips. The event showcased how customers are transforming their organisations to change the future. We also got to hear from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella in his opening keynote, where he explored the effect that digital transformation is having on business, society and the economy.

It was a great opportunity to see familiar faces, network and share with likeminded professionals. You can see highlights of both the business and technical days on the Future Decoded website.

8. Gartner Barcelona

We joined ProSymmetry at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Barcelona in November. With keynotes from industry experts and a comprehensive overview of current and future technology trends, there was a lot to learn.

ProSymmetry were an Emerging Technologies Exhibitor at the event, and their VP Greg Bailey had a session regarding common resource management questions. He also showcased ProSymmetry’s Resource Management tool, Tempus Resource, to demonstrate the power behind models.

9. PMO event with Lindsay at Lloyds

Our director Paul Major hosted a PMO Mini Masterclass earlier in November, discussing the role of a PMO in resource management, as well as some of the challenges they face. The session also covered where members should be from an aspirational standpoint in order to have a real opportunity to address these resource management concerns.

To see Paul in action, you can view his presentation in full here.

10. Wishing everyone a happy holidays and a prosperous 2016

We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed to a successful year at Program Framework during 2015. It has been a tremendous twelve months and we have got to share with lots of people in the project management industry and beyond. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and we look forward to an even better 2016!
